Magyarországon több milliárd forintra rúg a gyermekeknek szánt termékek piaca. Közeledik a Karácsony, és most közelről szemlélhetjük a fogyasztási láz eluralkodásának – ma már a bölcsőben, sőt az előtt is – jelentkező társadalmi következményeit.
A belátható jövőben a piaci szemlélet fogja meghatározni, hogy a gyerekek hogyan tanuljanak, mit egyenek és hogyan játsszanak. Gyermekeink mindennapjait egyre inkább meghatározzák a környezetüket elárasztó reklámok és marketing üzenetek. A felnövekvő generáció értékeit, törekvéseit, egészségét és önképét kereskedelmi érdekek befolyásolják.

Sorry if I needed to give the whole article here - and I appreciate the chance to add content and links to indymedia hungary. Please let me know if there is a problem with doing this… I’d like to introduce myself and our site.
Magyar Népszava is a multilingual web portal -

To publicise and promote the values and ideas of genuine social democracy in Hungary, providing a rolling update service on topics of interest.
To regularly introduce a selection of the latest thoughts and ideas from the worldwide social-democratic and democratic-socialist community into Hungarian.
To translate the speeches and writings of Hungarian social democrats into English and other languages.
To provide a platform for debate and discussion of these ideas.
To encourage activism and organisation, by providing a method for events and programmes to be publicised.
We have links to the „történelmi” Szociáldemokrata Párt but we are independent of any political parties. Our authors are just as likely to be non-aligned or generally active within trade unions and social democratic organisations.
Of course, social democracy has different viewpoints, but we are focused mainly on policy. We are based on the values and ethics of the past, but look for relevancy in the present and the future.
We’ve not officially launched yet, and the site will get better :-) but we appreciate any feedback… magyarul, franciaul, angolul lehet haznalni.

Hello Carl,
I have found some articles admiring Karoly Peyer at your site. Is it a joke or what? Me and my old friend called Jesse really do not like Mr. Peyer and his political activity. Maybe he is your idol, but we can not stand him at all. These articles make your site a humbug.
I think that there is one and only authentic and reliable social-democratic power in Hungary, namely the HSF-SR.

Why don’t you like Karoly Peyer… and why should expressing a positive opinion „make the site a humbug?” I am interested, because Peyer’s legacy is somewhat divisive.
It sounds like you hate him … well, I am not really a hater. I don’t think social democrats should be haters. Otherwise, what good would we hope to achieve?
In any case, he is no longer with us. A priority of the site is to think of the future and how to go forward. The HSF-SR - do you mean the Hungarian Social Forum? We’re happy to write about the Hungarian Social Forum. Some of our friends are involved in it. Give us more details, please!
The source of my negative
The source of my negative feelings about Mr. Peyer is that he was a counter-revolutionary in a revolutionary moment of the Hungarian history. In the counter-recolutionary periods he was a right-wing social-democrat, and I prefer the left-wing socialdemocrats because of the less compromises they have made.
In Hungary I see no social-democratic activity besides the HSF SR. You can find a report on their latest action here:

a kommentnek látszó, valójában a cikk beküldőjétől származó önreklámokat véletlenszerűen hol töröljük, hol nem, de olyan is van, hogy a cikkel együtt. ezt az egyet most például fennhagytuk szégyenpadnak, hátha valaki okul belőle. szerk.
